Saint Mark’s Scrolls: Psalm 150

This communal art project was inspired by the work of artist Hadieh Shafie, and uses the joyful words of Psalm 150 to focus our attention on God. We invite you to unite with your fellow parishioners in the meditative act of creating scrolls. Beginning on Commitment Sunday and through the end of 2021, we will be collecting these scrolls in the west end of the church—the more we have, the better! We’ll be collecting these small pieces of prayer and praise until the last day of Christmas, January 6, and then they’ll be gathered together in a permanent way. Below are instructions for how to create your scrolls. Materials to make scrolls are available on the Ushers’ Table in the West End of the church. If you live out of town, or are unable to come in-person to church, please let us know and we will mail you a packet. If you have questions about how to make scrolls or would like a packet mailed, please email Addie Peyronnin.

Psalm 150

O praise God in his holiness*
praise him in the firmament of his power.
Praise him in his noble acts*
praise him according to his
excellent greatness.
Praise him in the sound of the trumpet*
praise him upon the lute and harp.
Praise him in the cymbals and dances*
praise him upon the strings and pipe.
Praise him upon the well-tuned cymbals*
praise him upon the loud cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath*
praise the Lord.
